On Raglan Road

The Musical

On Raglan Road on an autumn day I met her first and knew
That her dark hair would weave a snare that I might one day rue;
I saw the danger, yet I walked along the enchanted way,
And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day.

Key Themes

With its four central themes, On Raglan Road - The Musical will connect with all generations, and will be a production with everlasting global appeal

Nature

Even in the cityscape of Dublin, nature hugely influenced Kavanagh’s work. This provides us with vivid imagery that will inspire the creation of a visually stunning stage spectacle.

A Pint of Plain

Our story is set during the golden age of Bohemian Dublin, when Irish wit and storytelling was at its peak. The pub was the place to be - and a pint of plain was your only man.

The "Phoneys"

Kavanagh’s strong distaste for the establishment often led him to call out fake news. This will allow us to draw parallels with current events and meaningfully connect with modern day audiences of all ages.

Heartbreak

In Baggotonia love moves in step with heartbreak, tearing away overly romanticised notions of love, leaving Patrick and Hilda to tell their own story, a story that inspired one of the greatest love songs ever written.
